The Vadodara Municipality officially released the VMC Recruitment 2026 announcement on 31/December/2025. This recruitment effort is a component of the Malaria-Free Gujarat Campaign 2026 which seeks to prevent and manage vector-borne and waterborne illnesses in the Vadodara. VMC has announced 734 contractual openings for the positions of Field Worker for Male and Public Health Worker for PHW through this notification. These jobs, which have an 11-month contract period are intended to improve disease control along with sanitation monitoring and public health surveillance. Starting on the date of 1/January/2025 the online application process will run until 1/January/2026. The recruitment is wholly and solely merit-based with no written examination or interview and making it an excellent opportunity for candidates who are seeking government-linked public health jobs in Gujarat. Eligibility Criteria:
Public Health Worker i.e PHW: The applicant must have completed a government-approved Sanitary Inspector or Multipurpose Health Worker course in 12th grade OR for ex-VMC health workers the applicant must have passed 10th grade with a Sanitary Inspector or MPHW course. And Basic Computer Course is necessary
Field Worker only for Male: The candidate must have passed at least 8th grade and must have knowledge of cycling. Candidates with prior health-related work experience and Vadodara residency are given preference.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and no older than 45, with the exception of ex-VMC health workers who may be as old as 59. Candidates should be aware that in accordance with VMC regulations the age relaxation is applicable.
Selection Method Explained:
VMC Recruitment 2026 will select candidates solely on the basis of a 150-point merit system. Additionally, there is never a written exam or interview. The marks will be awarded based on: Educational qualification – Relevant health or sanitary course – Computer knowledge – Residence in Vadodara – General work experience – Health field experience and COVID-19 duty experience with VMC. The final merit lists will be prepared category-wise which will be followed by document verification.
