Eligibility Criteria:
In order to apply for constable the aspirants must fulfil all eligibility conditions as of the mentioned cut-off dates that are given below:
For Constable Armed/IRP/SDRF the candidates must have passed Matriculation i.e 10th pass from a known board. For Constable Telecommunication the aspirant must have passed 10+2 with science from a known board. And for Constable Photographer the aspirants must have 10+2 with science and a 6-month computer course with minimum 2 years of photography or videography experience.
General candidates have to be 18 to 28 years old. While aspirants who are in-service police personnel have to be 18 to 30 years old. And the aspirants who are SPOs or VHGs have to be 18 to 40 years old. While ex-servicemen have the age relaxation according to rules after deducting the service period.
The candidates must be residents of Jammu and Kashmir and the valid Domicile Certificate must be issued on or before the date of 2/March/2026.
Selection Process:
The selection process under Jammu and Kashmir Police Constable Recruitment 2026 will be held in multiple phases that are mentioned below:
1. Written Exam: The written test will consist of objective-type questions i.e MCQs with a negative marking of ¼ mark for each wrong answer they attempt and bonus marks will be awarded for a valid NCC certificate.
2. Physical Standard Test i.e PST: Candidates that were shortlisted up to six times the number of vacancies will be called for PST to check height along with chest and other mentioned physical standards.
3. Physical Endurance Test i.e PET: PET consists of events such as long races and push-ups or shot put. The standards are relaxed for ex-servicemen based on the age of the aspirant.
4. Document Verification: All original certificates that are related to age and educational category and domicile will be verified before getting selected.
5. Medical Examination: Final medical fitness will be checked according to the standards of the state of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
